Is there any extant fingering chart for the Viennese system and does anyone know of reproductions that are available - Peter Hurd, I guess, is the person to ask!

There are indeed extant fingering charts for the Viennese oboe. I found one online a few years ago but can no longer locate it.

Viennese oboes are currently made by Yamaha, Wolf as well as a number of independent Austrian makers, including Christian Rauch and Karl Rado. Be aware that most of these are at A-443.

Yamaha have discontinued making Viennese oboes which is a shame, but you will still find the specifications of the YOB-804, 804H and 805 online:

Former oboe finisher
Howarth of London
1998 - 2010

The opinions I express are my own.
