Stefaans, kudos for your excellent French and thanks a lot for the clue about the Hans Meier recording ! I have already come across that CD some time ago but sadly didn't buy it by then. I will now try to get it since none of the pieces featured on this record are known to me, making it ever so much attractive.
As I pointed out in a previous thread, I'm also hugely interested in film music. In this respect, I wanted to draw the attention of the members of this board on a recent score composed by John Williams: MUNICH, the brand new Steven Spielberg movie. For this rather dramatic subject dealing with the murder attempted at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich, Williams delivered an utterly poignant and subtle score. Two pieces from that dense work do highlight the magnificent solo oboe of John Ellis: "Avner and Daphna" and "Discovering Hans". A highly recommended item here as well.
A happy and healthy new year to you all
Laurent
