I hope I am not the only person out there with this trouble... The more I become interested in oboe, the more frequently I come across names that I have no idea to pronounce.
Loree is straightforward, and I hear it in person by others from time to time, but some of these other makers have me scratching my head.
Marigaux- is it like merri- go?
Laubin- is it like LOB in or lob BEAN?
Bulgheroni- is it like BULGE er roni?
Howarth- is it like HOW worth or HOE worth?
I am sure there are others, but this is a start. Please help or add to the growing list. I am sure there are many out there who can help us noobs!

Marigaux - the first syllable should be pronounced like the word "mar" (meaning to disfigure /mär/) or March.
Laubin - when you talk to Alex Laubin on the phone, he pronounces the first syllable like the word "law"
Bulgheroni - the g is a hard g as in Bulgaria.
I can't say for sure about Howarth, but I've always heard "how" rather than "hoe"

Here's the most common pronunciations of the various makes as heard in the UK:
Marigaux - ma'rry-go
Howarth - how'-ath
Loree - lorry
Bulgheroni - bull'-gurr-oh"-knee
Rigoutat - rig'-oo-tah
Buffet - boo'-fay
Selmer - sel'-ma
Dupin - doo'-pan
Laubin - lou' (as in loud) -ban (but they're rarely ever mentioned in the UK)
Former oboe finisher
Howarth of London
1998 - 2010
The opinions I express are my own.

I pronounced Barret Oboe Method "Bar-ray." Have heard "Bear-it."
I play a Fox currently. No problems saying that one.

To Chris P: And I always thought a "Lorry" was a bus, taxi, or a small truck!
To P'feather: That sounds right: Foe-ex! Regards (in humo(u)r, of course!

There's enough overlap in the Oboe World that if you mis-pronounce something, someone will either a) immediately correct you according to the pronunciation used in their local area or b) completely understand what you are talking about.
The biggest difference betwixt us and the Brits is our pronunciation of the 'er' at the end of Selmer and in Howarth. Bar-ray, Bear-it, I've heard both ways.
Loree= loh-RAY here.
But, like French, if you're even making an effort, we'll understand you.
