The cane I got was definitely OK, but not spectacular. My favorite is Ghys, but that isn't obtainable any more.

I bought some last spring. My reeds turned out okay, some of them were actually quite good, but the cane was a bit too "springy" to my taste. Maybe it was just that particular batch. I'd actually like to buy another batch to try it again.

I've actually made some great reeds from Gonzalez cane. I bought a few pounds of tube cane last year and have had mostly good reeds out of it. The ones that didn't turn out were due to my error really, and not the cane itself (got to love self-realizations about reed making).
I've found with this cane that I don't have to take a lot out, but start with my reeds on the heavier side. My reeds are usually a bit thicker than my professor prefers but they play great. I've mostly been using Brannen X shape and did some on a Mack as well.
