What JRC said... Softer reeds were the answer to my oboe prayers!
I have changed my embouchure immensely since arriving at college, and it has done wonders for my endurance. The points I have 'corrected' are:
*Decreasing (ie 'lowering') the angle the oboe is entering my mouth at slightly (as well as lowering my elbows, which while not an embouchure correction, has changed the entry of the reed into my mouth slightly)
*Focused on sitting the reed on my lower lip with less pressure from the top, rather than the other way round (as I found I was doing)
*Tried to aim for a more flat chin (LOTS of bottom lip in)
*Drawing the corners of my lips in, rather than all the pressure coming from the top and bottom of the reed
Some, all or maybe none of these apply to you, but experimenting is the key. As well as endurance, this has all had the benefit of much more stability in the top of the second register as well.
Good luck with it all!
