 BAM Hightech Case
Author: mqaa

Hi all,

https://eu.bamcases.com/collections/stage/products/stage-hightech-clarinet-case

Was wondering if anybody has this case or has seen it. And if so, what do/did you think of it?

Looking for a replacement of my current case and this one looks promising. Not to big so it fits inside a normal bag. The only thing is that is has a zipper to close it. Not sure I like that.

I have not. But I’d go for the very similar but much cheaper Protec micro if I were looking for a slim case.

I am noticing no handle. So it definitely meant to be used in conjunction with some other carrying device. The ProTec is a great "stand alone" case.

Jakob Winter sells a compact case with traditional catches. It's online price is lower than stated on their website... 100-119 €. Presumably they market in the US too.

I use the Protec micro clarinet case and really like it. I carry mine in an old canvas Lands End briefcase which has extra pockets, room for many accessories, and my IPad. There is room to spare.

The case is very well made, and you can't beat the price.

Perfect agreement with Hank about the Protec micro case, I am very satisfied with mine and also like the fact that they come in several colors. I find that everything black just seems to vanish into the decor and everybody's case looks the same. At least that way I can easily find mine at home or at a crowded busy dress rehearsal and tell it from the others in "case" of a mistaken swap.

I also put mine in a grundy old zippered shopping sack with the rest of my gear so it's less tempting a target coming home late after rehearsal with a street level change of tramway-metro in a tough neighborhood, hoping they think it's just leeks and potatoes in there and not a 5K instrument.

Hi Djudy! Are these cases available in France? Where?

I have had a BAM trekking double case. The zippers hold well, but only if you put the zipper locks in the middle of the zipper when you close the case. If the locks are on either end The zipper won't hold. That's why there are two locks. AND! you remember to close the zippers 😀. (Once i didn't, and i changed back to my old "pochette") The inside is molded according to buffet clarinets, others may not fit.

RUBEN! BAM is a french firm!!!

Ruben, I got my Protec at JS Musique rue Duhamel, Lyon 2ème but you can also find them on-line. They are very well finished and reasonably priced. It has an outer zipper compartement with "rangements" for accessories. I keep my mp there and a Stretto humidity pack in place of the mp. Mine currently is home to my Selmer BT N-series plateau Bb clarinet, one of my favorites.

Hi Djudy,

I don't care about the case but like the clarinet very much!
How old is it? How does it play/compares to other Selmers?
Thanks
