It could be offered with a long adjusting screw that allows it to either be fully engaged or disengaged depending on the player's preference if there are certain altissimo notes it interferes with, just as having the articulated C#/G# key on soprano clarinets interferes with the long altissimo F and altissimo Bb fingerings which need the C#/G# tonehole to be open while the RH fingers are holding down the RH ring keys. Not a problem for me with full Boehms and other clarinets with articulated C#/G# as I normally use the short altissimo F fingering (Sp.Th. oxx C#/G#|ooo Ab/Eb) and for altissimo Bb, I play that as upper register C with the thumb off the thumb tube (but still on the speaker key).

Blashaus make a switchable link that fits on Selmer basses (from the '80s onwards) which have that link as standard so it can be fully disengaged:

With the help of Google translate:

"The BLASHAUS bass clarinet C#/G# hold-down device.

Selmer bass clarinets are equipped with a rigid C#/G# link, Buffet bass clarinets do not have one and the C#/G# can be opened like on a Bb clarinet.
We have developed a switchable hold-down device - this function can be switched on or off with one movement.

Just awesome. The inspiration for every bass clarinet player.

Today a C#/G# hold-down device is ideal ... tomorrow it will be annoying .... depending on the style of music.
With certain scales a held down C#/G# is very convenient .... but certain polyphonies, glissandi etc. and with klezmer music this function is a hindrance.

They can also fit one to Buffet basses:
