I too hoard my old reeds. Over the last year or so I’ve been resurrecting Vandorens from 1976. I’ve found many of them to be excellent and far better than reeds of today. I’ve got hundreds of old ones from the period 1976 to present so I’m now expecting to find a steady supply of great reeds. Many of the reeds from my oldest stock won’t have been played much, just tested, and have never been adjusted as I didn’t know about that in those days.
