I had an Evette-Shaffer E13. One well known retailer was adamant that the only difference between the R13 and E13 was polishing of the bore. A the time, the only difference in "retail price" was about $275, I think ...

The first good R13 it tried did not play very much like my E13 ... but that could have had more to do with variability of Buffet ...
