I like how they end the story with "If it turns out the substance is actually ashes, police say it's not even clear if a crime was committed." Like I can just go to concert halls and start sprinkling dirt and ashes all over the place.

Woulda been better if they had said something about charges MAYBE not being pressed. But yeah. I think they did the right thing to cancel.

That would have me spooked - I won't even set foot let alone walk across graves in a cemetery (I'll either walk behind the headstone or between the plots) as I find that disrespectful. I definitely wouldn't want myself, my property or any item of furniture I'll have to use to be sprinkled in anyone's ashes.

Some states have pretty narrow restrictions on how human remains, including ashes, may be disposed of.
