 Clarinet Quartet

Hello all. We're having difficulty finding a clarinet quartet that my fellow classmates and I can perform for our solo and ensemble. Our state list for what we can play is limited, and I don't recognize most of it. If anyone has any suggestions for us that would be great. I am attaching the list. All you have to do is open the excel file, go to the bottom and select woodwinds, then scroll up to the section that says clarinet quartet. We would like to play something in the level 5 to 6 range. Again, thank you for your help!

Would it be possible to add a few additional players to form a small clarinet choir? If so, there are several great level 5 possibilities on list including the Saint Paul Suite (Holst), Irish Tune from County Derry (Grainger), the Impresario Overture (Mozart), and the Second Suite (Holst). If you have some outstanding players, you could try some of the level 6 pieces, such as the Overture to the Marriage of Figaro (Mozart) or the Overture to the Italian Girl in Algiers (Rossini).

The Clarinet Institute of Los Angeles http://www.clarinetinstitute.com/ has a DVD ($14.50) with loads of music. I've attached the quartet selections on the DVD; perhaps something will work for you. Also see their downloadable selections: http://www.clarinetinstitute.com/clarinet-quartets.html.

IMSLP has some: http://imslp.org/index.php?title=Category:For_4_clarinets&transclude=Template:Catintro and http://imslp.org/index.php?title=Category:For_4_clarinets_%28arr%29&transclude=Template:Catintro

Thank you all for the suggestions. Unfortunately there aren't any other clarinetists at our school that would be able to handle a level five, or would want to put the work into one... We actually used to have a clarinet choir two years ago when we had quite a few more strong players, and we performed the Overture to the Marriage of Figaro.

Consider arranging. In school, I played some Hayden string quartets with people transposing from the original parts (I had to do the viola part), the Haydn Seven Last Words are pretty straightforward if you write it out, and when I found myself teaching sectionals in a symphonic band, I had good luck with the Mozart Adagio and Fugue, the Beethoven Heilige Dankgesang, and the Brahms G Major string quintet. And a lot of Renaissance madrigals, motets and masses sound great on "consorts" of instruments. Outside the box, there's a lot of great stuff you can access. Modern composition software makes it a whole lot easier than it used to be.

2nd try...

I extracted the 5s and 6s from the spreadsheet, and found links to videos for all but one. I chose the original version, rather than the quartet arrangements. It's helpful to know how the original was meant to sound, and there is a dearth of clarinet quartets on the internet. The Debussy however has a fantastic clarinet quartet! In one case I substituted a saxophone version for the clarinet original because it was so much better that the available clarinet videos. I had to do some digging to find all of them. I couldn't identify the Vivaldi or Telemann pieces. Play something you like! (And if possible go through a few with your quartet before choosing, to see what you all like and do well.)
