Comparison of old mouthpiece and new mouthpiece

Hello all. Just received my new Greg Smith Kaspar Cicero Mouthpiece in the mail yesterday and was very pleased with the performance. Prior to getting it, I was playing on a Vandoren Masters CL5. On my Vandoren, it was doing a pretty good job. It had a good tone besides a couple of notes but it was hard to switch registers. Also some of the notes sounded rather airy. Articulation was pretty nice but playing passages like Saint Saens Symphony 3 (Organ Symphony) was kind of hard but i got by. The new Greg Smith though was a lot better. The actual mouthpiece was really in tune because it was a little bit longer than the CL5 (they are really short). Overall evenness of notes was fantastic. The throat tones sounded very clear and not airy at all. Response was very easy and the overall tone was a little darker and more warm than my CL5. The articulation seemed much more clear and effortless too. My current setup is an R13 Silver Plated, Greg Smith Kaspar Cicero mouthpiece, Vandoren Optimum Ligature and Vandoren Rue Lepic 56 size 3.5+ reeds.
