Author: Ken Shaw ★2017 Date:   2012-02-08 22:46 I like 3, 1, 2 and 4 in that order. 2 is the most difficult. 4 is for A clarinet and is the most laid-back and lyrical, at the cost of brilliance. They're a big step up in difficulty from the Weber concertos and call for lots of high notes, up to C7 . The Webers are somewhat better music, but Spohr is underrated. They have many lyrical passages, but are also uninhibitedly virtuosic. You need to alternate operatic singing and show off speed. Ken Shaw
