I'm going to be touring internationally (!) on contrabass next year, and need a new case. I barely trust my current one to make it down the street, let alone survive as cargo on a transatlantic flight.
I need a new case, and I have a feeling it will have to be custom-made. I've already contacted Wiseman about possibilities. I'd like to explore my options, though (and they'd need my instrument on-hand to make it). There's, of course, always the option of homebrewing, but I'm not particularly up for that kind of project right now. Are there other manufacturers that you'd trust to make a durable custom case?
I'm playing a Leblanc low C paperclip. If there's a case I can fit in an overhead bin on a plane (I'd have to disassemble the horn at the half), that would be epic. Otherwise, the case would have to be really durable.
