 Wisdom teeth...

I had my wisdom teeth out exactly a week ago today, and I was wondering how much longer I should wait until I can play again. My private teacher said I should wait about two weeks, but my friends are traveling to Woodwind Brasswind in Southbend on Friday and invited me along (I'm looking into getting a new mouthpiece). Do you think this is a safe idea? or do I risk popping a stitch and bleeding in my instrument?
