Long wait for Buffet student clarinet parts!
Author: DavidBlumberg

Since buffet has been taken over recently, their parts ordering dept has become seemingly a mess.

My repairman ordered a replacement RH 3 Ring key from Buffet back in October and STILL IT HAS NOT ARRIVED.

This was for a Buffet B-12 Clarinet. She's been given the big time runaround by buffet and has been lied to as well about the delivery having been sent, not sent, overnighted and then not sent still.

I don't know (but wouldn't doubt) how their professional line is doing asto sending out replacement parts, but currently their student line parts dept is

OUT TO LUNCH.

I suggested to the parent to contact Francois Kloc and tell him just how long this is taking.

Why the heck would it take over 3 months to get a replacement part from Buffet?

David- might I point out that October until December is only 2 months, not three? Just good to be clear on the mathematics... :-)

David,

Does "Since Buffet has been taken over recently..." mean that the people providing poor service are all new to the company?

Why not go directly to Schreiber for that part?

Liquorice, it was actually mid September that it was ordered :)

Not sure if my repair tech went to Schriber or not (if that's who makes it) - she would know who to contact as she's among the top repairpersons in Phila, but not sure if she went that route or not.

Maybe that could work! (but Buffet should have at least known or told her too)

tictactux - there's a parody video of "the worlds worst job" with a guy coming into work and at the start of the day he answers the phone saying

yes, yes ...... yes, yes.......... yes

time passes

yes, yes...... yes clock now says 1:30 yes, yes, yes

clock says 3:45 and the guy's going bonkers yes, yes, yes

4:15 the guy completely goes crazy........

Other end of the phone is the Verizon guy walking around saying "can you hear me now?"

;)

I know it's in the UK, but it's always a last resort if nothing else comes up trumps:

Windcraft as my first suggestion to her back in Sept, but she wanted to order from Buffet (technician price probably).

Windcraft is a very cool site.

I got their phone # and spoke to their rep.

He found that they had made an error (their mistake) and is 2nd daying the part free of charge and with a T-shirt for the student.

Happy ending.
