I'm thinking back to my only encounter with this piece, many years ago. Somehow I got through the bass clarinet part without crashing.
The many sharps were too much for the 1st player, even though he was a professional, and he wrote out a transposed part.
There really should be transposed parts, professionally created, available for sale, or at least included in rental sets. Each successive clarinetist shouldn't have to reinvent this wheel.
Or would that run afoul of copyright restrictions? The work of Grofe (d. 1972) won't be in the PD for many years, at least not in the USA.
