Does anyone know of some of the larger retail (brick and mortar) woodwind stores in the US?
I have nothing against Sam Ash, but when I mean size I don't mean number of stores, but within any one store of a chain, what the woodwind and woodwind accessory selection is like. My closest Sam Ash has a very sparse band and orchestral section. I guess I can't blame them given that rock music instruments and recording equipment sales probably keep the lights on.
Weiner music, don't get me wrong, as a great internet outfit with inventory and competitive prices. But their storefront is next to non-existent. What I mean to say is that if you know what you want from internet someone will be glad to go into the store's basement and get it for you while you wait, but the walk in location and walking the aisles is sparse.
I recently bought something from ebay from Meridian Winds and looked them up on the internet. Man they are huge in terms of retail product selection compared to what I'm use to.
TIA
