This was the LP that started my love for the clarinet:

My dad was into big band era music (this was his era!) and classical music, so he had a number of records and sets. He didn't play an instrument however, and neither did my mom.
I was about 11 years old. For some reason I took this one out (maybe because it said 'Mozart' on it and I knew that he was a classical music composer), and when I heard the mellow sounding instrument that sang the da di da -da di da- da di daaaa, I wondered what it was (I had no idea of the names of woodwind instruments - maybe flute, but not all woodwinds). Once I worked out it was the clarinet, I told my parents I wanted to play that. Oddly enough, they did take me to our local music store (when it still existed) and bought me a Vito Reso Tone.
Was there a particular piece of music that inspired you to play?
