Not that I necessarily have a solution, but is the R-13 barrel a vintage - mid-1900s original equipment - specimen (their bores were originally not tapered) or one with a "Moennig" reverse-tapered bore? The reverse taper was meant, among other things, to correct the sharpness on [B5] and [C6]. Also, R13 barrels are designated as either A or Bb clarinet. Are you using an A barrel?

Out of curiosity, since I haven't bought or even handled a new Buffet clarinet in decades, do the R13 barrels now come with reverse-tapered bores, or do you still have to buy after-market barrels?

Karl
