The reverse taper was meant, among other things, to correct the sharpness on and . Also, R13 barrels are designated as either A or Bb clarinet. Are you using an A barrel? Out of curiosity, since I haven't bought or even handled a new Buffet clarinet in decades, do the R13 barrels now come with reverse-tapered bores, or do you still have to buy after-market barrels?
