This COVID thing has gone on for awhile now, but I still can't seem to find good answers to my current questions. So I'm going to ask it here to see if I can get any better information:

Sanitizing mouthpieces, reeds, cases and swabs is simple stuff. But what about clarinet bodies? A community band I am a member of is trying to resume rehearsals with a pretty extensive health protocal. In that protocal is the line "Clarinets, Saxes, oboes and Bassoons need hand sanitizers or wipes to clean hands and instruments."

My question is, given that ethyl alcohol seems to be the best sanitizing agent for COVID-19, what is the effect of rubbing a grenadilla clarinet body and bore with ethyl alcohol?

Given that many ethyl alcohol sanitizers have other ingredients such as glycerin and hydrogen peroxide in them, what effect might these additional ingredients have on grenadilla bodies.

Is there something better than ethyl alcohol solutions for this purpose?

My thought has been to switch to a hard rubber clarinet. What effect, if any, does ethyl alcohol have on hard rubber?

Would wiping a clarinet of any type with an ethyl alcohol solution leach out the key lubricant?

This whole idea of wiping a clarinet body and bore with a sanitizing agent seems to me to be fraught with hazards. But I can't seem to find good solid information on this. Any info will be appreciated.
