I have been admonished by the moderators regarding my too-personal posts...so I'll leave this short and sweet...play for the feel, learn the scales, the theory and such, get a good horn and the means for what works for you...and play whatever you love con passionato...you don't need me to tell you this...but sometimes I have to remind myself that's what made me a good player and gave me what I got in life. I didn't practice 8 hours a day, have great chops, but I had the passion...and it took me a long way.
It looks like I'm getting back in the clarinet world. Tomorrow I'm checking out a Noblet bass for a community band in San Luis Obispo California USA. I bought a vintage Selmer bass mpc "A" model. I don't know anything about it, but the cat who sold it here on the classified board is a clarinet doc student from North Texas State, so I assume he knows something. Why he's selling this I don't know, but I took a $207.90 chance...I've had C-stars, played a Pomerico 3-in Rome on my 33 back in '05...so let's see how this works. Hopefully this school Noblet is playable.
I'm almost 59 and looking forward to playing again. I have a rehabbed Buffet S1 that may get a call as well.
If anyone knows anything about this model A selmer mpc I'd like to know.
Best wishes to all...hope this passes moderator muster.
