Notice I said "try," not "buy" a traditional Vandoren M30 to see if that helps.
I'd never buy a mouthpiece I could not return if it doesn't work for me. You never know what's going to come out of it till you play it. But the Vandoren traditional does play a few cents higher generally than the series 13 models.(This may or may not be enough to correct your problem). Some mouthpiece techs say this is because the series 13 line have a slightly deeper baffle that increases the overall size of the mouthpiece interior. Some mouthpiece makers have mouthpieces that tune to what they call "European" standards (closer to A=442 than 440). Walter Grabner and Reserve (the new Evolution E-European-model) for instance.
