Hi, Pat:

An American Standard clarinet could date back to the 1920s. It will almost certainly require a large-chamber mouthpiece to play in tune with itself.

If you have been attempting to play it with a Vandoren M13 or M15, give it a test play using a B45 instead and see if the intonation issues improve.
