I would try warm water and Dawn dish soap first. Although I don't think vinegar would be a negative issue for wood.


A quick search yielded the fact the there is 5-20% acetic acid in vinegar. "There should be no lasting effects to wood." But they mention it will make the wood smell like vinegar (they are speaking of wood that readily absorbs moisture though).
