 Buffet B12 and the effects of heat

I was looking at a used Buffet b12 to use outdoors.
That said I read some place that the effects of heat do something to the B12 if left in the heat of the Car in the summer.
Question is what does the heat actually do to the B12?
Also does the heat effect other plastic horns as well?
