From a recent topic on the board discussing thumbrests, I got the idea to start this discussion.
I've used the Ton Kooiman maestro for a while now.
When I first got it, I spent hours trying different "settings".
After a while, I couldn't really find any position I was happy with, so I just left it and continued playing.
Since then, I haven't touched it and I guess it feels OK.
But recently, I've tried playing fast things and have noticed that I think my right hand positioning could be improved. I've tried rising/lowering it and also found that the best hight for the angles I've set it to is kindof in between, where it does not stick.
So I'm thinking of going for a new quest to try different strange setups in hope to find something that feels better than what I have now.
Can you share images or info about how you set up yours? Height, angles, placing on the thumb, etc. are very interesting to me!
(I'll try to get some images when I'm reunited with my clarinet tonight)
Best regards
Peter
