Many years ago (probably 30+), I was a promising 8th grade clarinet player in Southern California in search of a good teacher.
Somehow, I found an older gentleman named Gil Miller, who was apparently a player of some skill and reputation in Southern California at the time. He was a wonderful teacher, although somewhat impatient with a young whippersnapper like myself.
After 3 years, I left Southern California (my family moved) and I left him behind. But, as I am rebuilding my playing skills now, I realize that he had a significant impact on me as a player and musician. It's his voice I hear when I practice now...
He's probably just one of hundreds of clarinet players who achieve little fame, but who are wonderful teachers who inspire others. But, on the off chance that someone on this Board may know him, I thought that I'd put it out there.
Anyone know Gil Miller from Southern California?
