Major issue with reeds:
Its too expensive!
I have a 6 month old son, and both me and my wife is freelancers. I have not enough money to buy Vandoren v12 anymore.
In USA it seems to be really cheap, but here in sweden the only place to order somewhat cheap is reedsdirect in UK, and they are not cheap at all anymore...
What do i buy that keeps the same quality of sound as v12 but costs less? And ugly tricks from other poor europeans?
Regards
Niclas

It's really NOT a sonic equivalent in my opinion, but for a decent second best, I would say you could get away with Legere Quebec cut reeds of the same strength designation. They are about as much as a box of reeds, but they should last somewhere from three to six months each (I would still rotate a few at a time though). That makes them, at very least, three times cheaper than cane.

I've just received a Signature 3.5 to play on m 30 and R13 going up from a 3 1/4 and it seems to me that this is going to be my main reed I will play in future , just a pleasure to play with .
