Ben, I think you're talking about the small-size folios of music--usually these are full of marches, polkas, or pep-band arrangements of popular and big-band music.
These would be fine to work out of. You will probably have to keep a trumpet/cornet part next to your clarinet part to keep ahold of the melody.
Many community bands are in need of this type of literature. You might want to check with your local ensembles to see if you have any folios that could be used to replace missing ones in their music library. And if you have a complete or nearly complete set of parts that you could donate, that would be even better!
