In the last 15 years I have been served well by techs associated with this board. But because of the number of vintage instruments I have, I'm really looking for someone in the area who will work with me on what I might call a somewhat more a la carte fashion rather that ask me to plug in to one repair level or the other. I have many instruments that I truly hope to bring to playable condition (over time).
My personal hope would be to find someone in my area (Wash DC, MD, northern Virginia) who would (1) charge based on as-needed work (for example, on two or three instruments at a time), (2) not keep an individual instrument longer than 12-14 weeks, (3) have a particular sensitivity to key positions and heights, and (4) have a tolerance for old Buffets and Selmers (if not be "enthusiastic").
As I say, I have been served well but am just attempting to fine-tune my repair needs, mainly because of the number of instruments I have. Suggestions appreciated!
