Hi all,
What do you think is the best Brahms clarinet quintet recording?
In my opinion the recording done by Yona Ettlinger is the best.
Thanks,
Rafi

Don't know about "best" (this ain't a weight lifting competition), but here are a couple of favorites:
Charles Draper & the London String Quartet (8 minute fragment), 1917. This is available on "The Clarinet: Historical Recordings Vol II" put out by Clarinet Classics in 1994. Brahms without handcuffs...
George Pieterson's is probably my favorite modern recording.

For me, it's a dead heat between Ettlinger and Kell/Busch Quartet. I wish the Ettlinger would be reissued on CD, though. He's is the only one where the intonation is perfect all the way though. There are a number of clips on of him on YouTube.
Equally fine is his LP of the Brahms Sonatas on a French RCA LP. The reissue of a different performance on DoReMi is not as good.

My favorite so far is this:
http://www.amazon.com/Mozart-Brahms-Clarinet-Eric-Hoeprich/dp/B000FUF90Q
Eric Hoeprich with the London Haydn string quartet. It's truly amazing to me how the Ottensteiner clarinet sounds and balances in comparison to the string quartet.
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's worth a listen. I learned a lot from this recording!

I thought this was a really stupid question when I first saw it but I am enjoying all the different answers.
I would love to hear all these recordings as these are all clarinetists that we should have knowledge of.
And the Brahms Quintet is a masterpiece.
Thanks for the input. I have a lot of listening to do.

Like Dileep I would love to find and hear all these recordings. My personal favourite (from the 6 or 7 versions I own) is the recording made by Alessandro Carbonare on the Agora label.

Michele Zukovsky has a really good recording of the Brahms on iTunes/Amazon.
Paired with the Mozart Quintet, and Mozart Concerto Mvt 3 as a bonus track.
From live performances, the Brahms has the best sound. I produced them, but am not the audio engineer.

Sabine Meyer with the Berg Quartet. It's a live recording and is truly exciting. I am interested to hear Eric's though.

My 2 cents is the Leister recording with the Leipzig String Quartet on the MDG label. It is also Leister's favorite as well of all of his recordings.

I like Harold Wright's recording with the Boston Symphony Orchestra Chamber players. I also like Yona Etlinger's recording as well.
