From Stephen Fox's website http://www.sfoxclarinets.com/bio.html:
"His position as an instrument builder is unique, as one of only a couple of manufacturers of custom professional clarinets in the Western Hemisphere, the only one outside Europe with a dual concentration on both modern clarinets and reproduction historical instruments"
Leaves me wondering (and I guess I could always email him to ask):
1) Assuming "a couple" means precisely "two", who is the other manufacturer of custom professional clarinets in the Western Hemisphere? Do Chadash and Rossi count as custom builders? Or Peter Eaton, who falls into the Western Hemisphere by just a few miles?
2) Does this imply that there are manufacturers of custom professional clarinets in the Eastern Hemisphere? Who are they? Is he referring to makers of German-system instruments?
3) Which makers within Europe have a dual concentration on both modern clarinets and reproduction historical instruments?
