Future 1st Child (Obama's oldest daughter) Malia plays the Flute.
The news showed her going to school holding a Flute case.
Maybe the youngest one will end up playing Clarinet to round it out.

The Clarinet opening in that is what scared me! For a second I thought it was bad midi.......
When Donald Trump was 12 he punched his Piano Teacher in the Eye for incompetence.

It's a classic clip. Notice how she goes crossed eyed when she plays a wrong note. I wonder was the clarinet player doubling trumpet?

Gotta figure we all have our classic clips which are scary at one time or another.

Well I didn't think it was too bad for an amateur perf. Sure the intonation was dreadful but I think she had the makings of a really good tone. Just a bit more work with support....
At least she plays.
I have it on good authority that our former PM's Nielsen was shocking. The present guy has a bit more panache. Capable of a good Weber's 2nd.
Got to say US politicians seem a lof more interesting than our mob.
Bill did a good jazz impersonation also.

Clinton's a decent sax player. But as far as musical excellence in American politics goes, I say the prize goes to Sec'y of State Rice. She can REALLY PLAY!
Although I've never heard him play, I'll bet Alan Greenspan (at least in younger days) would have Clinton beat in the single reed department. He even studied clarinet at Juilliard for a time and worked as a professional saxophonist in a swing band the 1940s. He and Stan Getz played together as teenagers.

Osmo Vänskä was principal clarinet in one of the Finnish orchestras before he took up conducting. He made at least one CD and continues to play.

Hi Chris
Long time no "see"! And which former PM are you referring to? I have not been paying a lot of attention to Aussie politics. Is John Howard still the current PM?
I see your ISP says Ballarat. Have you moved away from Melbourne?

Hello Marcia,
Still in Melb. John Howard has gone, hurray. If it was up to me I wouldn't have let him play Alto Clarinet in my Junior Clar ensemble, let alone lead a country.
New PM is Kevin Rudd.
How is your playing going?
Chris.
