 Ridenour model 146

Hello! I'm new to the forum, although have intermittently lurked for a couple of years. I'm a jazz saxophonist recently returning to clarinet, and am quite interested in the Ridenour instruments. There is much written in the forum on the model 576 Custom, but I see little on the 146. I recently had an illuminating telephone conversation with Mr. Ridenour during which he mentioned some of the differences between the two: an ABS body on the 146, and a somewhat higher pitch on the higher notes on it as well. He explained that the player with an embouchure optimized for the saxophone will likely find this model more suited to his or her taste.

I am curious to know of the experience of other players who have played this Bb clarinet, or even those who have played both models.

Cheers, Jim
Fayetteville, Arkansas
