I'm sure it's been asked a million times, or maybe it hasn't.
but can someone point me in the direction of where i can purchase the clarinet solo for rhapsody in blue, or if you have the music send it to me?
i've been searching for a little over a week, and i've been to multiple music stores and looked all over the web, and i still can't find it.
thanks, hilary

The entire orchestral work is rental only, however the opening solo and other clarinet excerpts are found in Kalman Bloch's Orchestral Clarinet excerpt book, Volume III
The miniature orchestra score can be purchased from Warner Brothers Publications ...GBK

Fortunately, there is a much easier way of getting it.
Just buy this book, which costs £9.95 in the UK: http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/078244/details.html

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.
To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.

GBK wrote, "The entire orchestral work is rental only"
Unless I am totally mistaken, our Madison Symphony Orchestra owns the work and has it in their library. My orchestra--the Beloit/Janesville Symphony--performed it two summers ago and I think those parts were on loan from another local symphony.
(And no, the clarinet part is not available for copy, so don't even think about it)

I don't know what's the situation in US (or whatever country you're in), but a lot of scores including a copy of r.blues's are avalible at libraries in Hong Kong where i live. Hope that helps!
