Greetings all! A NOOB here to the board, though I've been reading it for some time.
I have an instrument that I'm hoping someone can tell me about as I haven't found anything in these forums or on the web.
It's an all wood clarinet. Markings include:
'Marly Paris' - on the bell, with the word Marly in scripted cursive
'MADE IN FRANCE' and 'MARLY PARIS' - all plain uppercase on the upper body
'42883' - on both the lower and upper body
It's probably mid-60's or earlier since I bought it used in 1972. I suspect it was originally purchased as a student clarinet by a Canadian high school.
The bore is approximately 0.57", straight with no appareunt undercut on the tone holes.
Any insight into the original manufacturer or quality of this clarinet would be appreciated (though I'll sleep tonight regardless). If there's anything anyone would like me to check or if a pic of some detail would be helpful, please let me know.
Cheers, Brian
