I've read in the archives that the V360 isn't made anymore. It is the mouthpiece that "came with" my clarinet when it was purchased for me when I was in high school. (My band director went to NYC to pick up the clarient and he chose the mouthpiece, I suppose). I played for about 6 more months in a concert band and orchestra (until I graduated), then retired my clarinet for 20 years.
Since I started playing again, I've liked the tone I've produced for the IFD tunes I play. But I play a wide variety and wanted to try having two mouthpieces with two different reeds so I could play, say, Italian and Greek in the same set. So I searched the archives and asked you guys and decided to get a mouthpiece that takes me farther in the tonal direction I want to go. I just purchased (oneline) a 5JB profile 88.
It looks IDENTICAL to my V360. Every angle I can think of looking. Inside and out. Height, opening size and width, everything.
I haven't tried playing on it yet -- gotta figure out the return policy first.
So now I know why my tone was already pretty good.
And if any of you run across someone searching for a V360, you can let them know a 5JB really should work pretty well as a "substitute".
