I know I've found this out somewhere before, but could y'all tell me what it's called (and how to play it) when you have like an
F# -and then those 3 slanted lines- and then A

Tremolo
Simply alternate between the two notes. In some pieces of music, the tremolo is to be taken at a certain speed as determined by the number of lines. In other pieces it would be played as fast as you can. It depends on the style of the piece.
