well after a pratice session, I usually don't practice anything! If you mean in between different practice sessions altogether (say orchestra rehearsal, then ensemble rehearsal) then what I usually do, is at the beginning of the day I do a nice thorough warm up, which allows me to play for a reasonable amount of time.

since i'm not really studying much at this time i model my practise almost like a workout routine. I do all my stuff i'd like to practise then take a day off to rest my chops. or i do a half of what i'd like to do one day and do the rest another. so i don't over practise and blow myself out, especially if it's close to a performance. hope this helps.

i usually go from 5 to 10 minutes but i thinkn u shoudl go for 3 minutes, it works better.
