Hi.
I do not believe that you must start off with a different instrument. Sometimes it may be easier but it is okay to start off on Soprano Sax if you really want too.

Hi Mina, Not really sure about your question. If you do want to start saxophone, it is most recommanded to start with an alto sax or a tenor, not really to start with soprano. There is nothing wrong to start with a soprano but it is regarded as the most difficult one to control, in comparision to alto and tenor.
