I am an begining clarinetist. I just got a new book for my b-day and it has the note E# (I think) so I looked it up on my fingering chart, and it wasnt there! Is there a real E# for the Bb clarinet? If so, how do you finger it???????????

Yeah they are called enharmonics
for example a Bb is the same as an A# so in your case an E# would be the same as a F because an E raised by the shrap a half step is a F.

ooh, also B# is C too. if it doesn't make much sense check out a piano. each black key is a semi tone. but there are two spots in an octave were there are none. These are those infamous E# and B#. there are no semitones between the whole tones(white keys). If this makes no sense at all, talk to your band teacher, whatever you call them, they'll be able explain it further.

You guys are somewhat confusing things, yes, there is an Fb, yes, there is an E#...but you've got to remember you can flat or sharp anything as much as you want. You could play a A, and call it Bbb (B double flat), and you could also play a Bb and call it Ebbbbbb. It all has to do with whole steps and half steps.
