I am looking to self teach the tenor sax and am looking for the fingering and notes for beginners. I would really like to hear about some more information.
Thanx, Tenaya

Although self-proficiency is usually rather important, teachers are an essential part of learning; they have gone through a lot of the experiences, and have a greater knowledge of the instrument. I would really suggest getting a teacher: you'll be better off for it.

I'd agree that a teacher is a good idea to stop you getting into bad habits, but the saxophone is easy enough that you can learn to play tunes on it on your own. You might like to try my introduction at:

Once you've finished that, come back here for the more elaborate fingerings, which are all listed on this site.

Get a qualified teacher/band director to help you. He/she will suggest a good beginner method that will give you adequate practice on each note before moving ahead to new notes. Standard of Excellence and Essential Elements are both good methods as is the Ed Sueta method, among others.
