I play the trumpet, and recently self taught myself the flute. After you get a note out, it's really easy, definetly compared to trumpet. The only bad thing (I think) about the flute is that the notes are above the staff and that's hard to read, but you'll get used to it. I'd definetly go for flute for a beginning instrument.

I think that flute is kind of hard to learn. When my friend lets me TRY to play her flute, I always get dizzy. why is that?

This is for Ahsia. The reason you get dizzy when you play your friends flute is because when you play the flute you only use about 1/4 of the air you put out. The rest is lost in the air and is never used.

I would like to say that it depends on the person as to if the Flute is easy or not to learn. From my experience with friends (i am a player as well) i can safely say that the flute is an excellent beginner instrument for wind. This is because the sounds is kinda easy to produce and the fingering is very very easy and there isn't much variation (for instance the clarinet you have a million and one levers the little finger can press - very confusing) However i would like to say that once yoy become very good the flute becomes very hard. It is the same for every single instrument. once you start playing it professional (or an aim to play it professional) it becomes very hard and very demanding. You start to learn new things such as projection, tremollos (however tou spell it)and tone. This is the hardest thing about flute. Most of the notes are out of tune and you need to learn how to blow properly to get a perfect pitch (to demonstrate, get a tuner and play every note on the flute. I can guarentee that most of your notes will be out of tune. To play every single note in tune is VERY VERY difficult
Well take care and have fun, and remember, the flute is most beautiful when played right!
