is a soprano clarinet the same as a Bb cause im really confused.

In general use, "clarinet" refers to the Bb clarinet, also known as the Bb soprano clarinet. For further clarification, you can view the picture by clicking on the words "Fingering Charts" at the top of this page, click on "Clarinet", then click on the words in yellow "Description of keys and fingering notation". Allow a few seconds for the picture to fully appear.
Not to cause confusion, but there is also the smaller Eb soprano clarinet, which is usually refered to as the "Eb" or "Eefer". This is much less commonly used.
The larger, lower-pitched members of the clarinet family are usually refered to as Alto, Bass, Contra-Bass, etc.

I'm a flute player, but I know a guy who played a really tiny clarinet that was in Eb. He just called it an Eb clarinet, but it might be the same thing as the soprano clarinet you're talking about.
I probably didn't help at all... Sorry... Like I said, I'm a flute/piccolo player.
