I just had an unusual idea for doing a duet, and I was wondering if anybody here would be interested. So here is the idea. After a duet is decided on, you would record yourself performing your duet part. You would then send me the recording as a wave file (.WAV), and I would record my part alongside your part in a sequencer. Presuming all goes well, I would save the end result as a wave file of both our parts being played together. Then we could listen to and enjoy our "duet."
If anyone is interested in trying do something like this, or has any questions. let me know.

I'd be willing but for one thing - I have no microphone, and no other way to recod myself.

I'm not sure, but I think you can get a pretty decent microphone for $10 to $15.
I can't think of any other solution at the moment. If I come up with one, I'll let you know.
By the way what instrument do you play? I play the flute.

I wouldn't rely on the quality of a $15 computer microphone. Those mics barely reproduce the spoken human voice well, much less all the subtle nuances of a wind instrument. There are decent computer recording packs (including a recording microphone, cable, and a USB preamp) for something like $199, if I'm not mistaken, but that's a bit expensive for such a project.
If a solution is reached, though, it sounds like a pretty sweet idea.
