need advice on buying a trumpeter
Author: zanz

Hi used to play the trumpet a few years ago and want to start back and I need my own instrument.I have a little money and am considering buying a cheap brand like from Ameriwind or Jazz studio. they sell between $80-$120.

I've heard mixed reviews of these brands but for that price all i really need is a functional instrument i can practice on.

does anyone have first-hand experience with these brands of trumpet?

You will not be able to start all over on a bad instrument, my best advise is borrow a trumpet from a pro player.

since not all of us have access to a pro musician who'll lend us their instrument, stick to the more noted brands of trumepts. yamaha and bach are good brands. play test the instrument if possible. if you go to a lesser known brand, the quality can be anywhere from very poor to great. hope this helps.

Advice on buying a trumpeter? Yeah, buy one that wont complain about being chained up in your basement, or locked up in a closet, or shut up in the trunk of your car with no food or water. my last one died, it was kinda sad, but only because I left him in the trunk of my car and it got over 100 degrees.
