I'm a classic guitarist but do some home recording and can't resist collecting other instruments when I find a deal...today I picked up a Normandy #10 clarinet and a Cadet flute. I know that Normandy and LeBlanc are the same company, and that the Cadet was made by Bettaney. However I can't find much information on either instrument. I assume that both the Normandy #10 and Bettaney Cadet were student-level instruments, but I'd appreciate some opinions of their quality and how they compare to today's "beginner" instruments.

The Normandy 10 is a fine instrument and worth an overhaul. Just check the price of an equivalent new one (still called a Normandy) at sites like the Woodwind and Brasswind.
