 Do flute's and piccolo's have the same fingerings?

Hey everyone! I just got a piccolo and i cant buy the right book for it until school starts. what i wanted to no was if flutes and piccolo's have the same fingering's??

yes they do but for intonation reasons on the piccolo it is better to use the alternate fingering for Bb(other thumb key and 1st finger lft hand and right pinky) hope this helps

You can use the same fingerings on the piccolo as the flute, but there are several new ones that you should know for better intonation.

Yes. And if you look through the fingering charts for flute and piccolo, there's one spot that has alternate fingerings for piccolo. Click on that to find out what they are. Hope this helps.

Yes, but the piccolo is played an octave higher than what is written.

Its all 100% the same thing. You don't need any special books at all for piccolo and in fact I don't think they make them anyways.

They do make practice books for the piccolo, in fact. They are not necessary for technique, per se, but many, like Trevor Wye's Practice Book for the Piccolo, have orchestral picc excerpts.
