depends what size you are on now. i'm assuming ricos? if so a 3 rico is a 2 1/2 on mitchel laurie. a vandoren is a good brand too. a 3 on rico is a 2 vandoren. using this guide, figure what size you have to what size you are considering to get. either brand is excellent. hope this helps.

i hate vandorans personally. they have too many bad reeds i only get 3 or so good ones a box. i use mitchal lori, the're cheaper to quality ratio is better and you get like 5 good a box. don't worry all reeds are playable its just that a profesionaly mentor has helped me decifer between excelent and perfect condition. i think you should also consider Davie Cane reeds. he is a profesional who is good at what he does and has an understanding of instruments that mitchal lori does not. every reed is in perfect conditoin and i guarentee you will be satisfied go to daviecane.com by the way he lives in san fransisco CA and is really cool.

what reed you use is up to you people can't tell you what reed is the best because it is different for each person size and brand of the reed you play on how comfortable you are with a that reed and how good of a sound you get on it it doesn't make you a better player just because you can play on a harder reed or a different brand than someone else
just take that into consideration thanx hope this helps

I use Vandoren V12s. I used to use regular Vandorens, but about two years ago I tried V12s, and found that the ratio of playable to non-playable reeds is reversed (1 bad one out of a box rather than 1 good one out of a box).
